Rev. Leon Charles Shaw, Sr., was born March 30, 1948, to Lewis and Tommie Lee Shaw Sr. in Los Angeles, California. He accepted Christ at a young age, and was a member of his father’s church, Upper Room Move of God Evangelistic Center in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, California. He attended Los Angeles Trade-Technical College where he studied Real Estate.
Rev. Shaw followed his father’s footsteps into the Ministry and became a traveling Evangelist for over fifty years. Rev. Shaw was the founder of New Day Community Church in McAllister, Oklahoma. He attended Leap of Faith Worship Center in Temple, Texas. He loved preaching God’s Word. Leon was an Amateur Boxer and loved the sport of Boxing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Louis Delbert Jr., stepson, Gregory Bradford, and ex-wife, Bernadine Coleman Shaw.
Survivors are sons, Tyrone Bradford of Sherman, Reginald Bradford of Los Angeles, California, Myron Bradford (Deborah) of McKinney, Leon Shaw Jr. of Fort Worth, Derrick Shaw Sr. (Arnita) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughters, Anita Walker of Sherman, Bridgette Brown Shaw (Arthur) of Houston, and Leondra Shaw Nelson (Chris) of McKinney; brothers, Steven Shaw of Temple, Artie Shaw (Sharon) of Inglewood, California; sisters, Yvonne Jackson of Inglewood, California, and Glender McKay (Gerard) of Los Angeles, California; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friend
